Jennifer Tilly's birth occurred in Los Angeles, California on September 16th 1958. The birth circumstances were miserable. Her mother was an unsuccessful schoolteacher and actor, made a living selling automobiles while her father was an auto salesman. Jennifer, the second of her family's four children often accompanied her mother to her theater performances and was very impressed with her. After Jennifer was five years old she divorced her parents. Jennifer spent the bulk of her life within British Columbia, after her mother and father moved to the province with their four children. Jennifer did not have an excellent education, despite being an extremely artistic kid. In Canada, she was the victim of bullying often. When her enthusiasm for theatre diminished as she entered high school, she began playing in theatre alongside her mother. All of her children were inspired by their mother to pursue a love for art.
